Douglas Cardwell, sound healer, percussionist and founder of Lotus Sound Bath in Albuquerque, NM, has teamed up with Dragonfly Percussion to bring two entirely new products to the singing bowl and gong world.
The Lotus3 mallets are 3-in-1 implements designed to strike and sing crystal singing bowls and gongs - all with one mallet. The soft silicone handles create a whisper soft fade-in/fade-out effect when rubbed along the lip of the bowl. Each mallet also sports a higher-density silicone ball on one end for louder, more robust friction on the side of the bowl. Transition between the silicone ball and handle is seamless. On the opposite end on the Lotus3 Alpha is our popular Resonance Medium Soft gong mallet wrapped in rust-colored fleece so you can effortlessly transition between playing your singing bowls and gongs without changing mallets. The Lotus3 Beta has a smaller purple fleece-wrapped mallet head ideal for safely striking your bowls as well. It elicits a warm, full-bodied sound from your bowls or shimmery high frequencies from your gongs. For maximum efficiency and minimal mallet changes during sound healing and sound bath practice, the Lotus3 mallets are the perfect choice.
“I have been delighted to explore all the potential of the Douglas Cardwell Lotus³ Alpha Mallets. There is nothing else on the market like this for sound healers. It is like a magic wand. Both ends of the mallet and the handle are activators. It is impossible to make a “clonk” or ‘bonk” since everything is padded or silicone. I love the silicone handle! It makes for super easy grip. The mallets are very lightweight and well balanced which means I can sustain playing time. The transitions between multiple instruments is quick and seamless. I am playing various size gongs, frame drum, tongue drum, tuning forks and chimes with these mallets and my gig bag has never been so manageable. Thank you for a unique and very useful product.” Kristen L.
“I love the new Lotus³ mallets. What a difference they make!” Leigh Ann
“I've been using my bowl mallets and thinking, dang these are so scratchy I wish I had Douglas’ Lotus³ mallets. They are so smooth.” Leroy
