Mike Tamburo Large (MTL)
The MT Large is the only mallet in Mike’s line that sports a beefier tapered maple handle (approximately ⅞” diameter on the bottom end, ⅝” on the top end). The core is a heavy rubber disc with a slightly rounded contour wrapped in soft layers of thick felt, foam and sherpa.
“The MT Large mallet is perfect for single stroke playing, allowing you to highlight a range of low and midrange sounds. Excellent for exploring different tonal areas on the instrument. These mallets are heavy enough yet light enough to explore the lower frequencies of any gong, but light enough for a wide range of mallet work, including faster drone strokes.” -Mike T.
